The Philistines defeat Israel and judgement falls on the nation. However the Philistines have the Ark, which they place in Dagon's temple. We see God showing that he is supreme and Judgement falls on the Philistines. This results in a desire to be rid of the Ark. We see how they do this and note the severity of God and the sanctity of God.
