In 1st Samuel chapter 19 we find Saul's hatred at such a pitch that he sends assassins to kill David. David's wife Michal, who is also Saul's daughter, thwarts their plans, to protect her husband she sets up a deception and so delays her father's assassins. Psalm 59 gives us first-hand evidence to the state of David's mind during this attempted murder.
