David turns to Jonathan the crowned prince and pours out his mind to him, a mind that is in turmoil. David knows Saul seeks to kill him but he does not understand why. Jonathan, bound by covenant love to help David, is a wonderful illustration of the covenant love of Christ, the helper in the believer's struggle in the world. His covenant guarantees we will find a refuge in Him, for he cannot deny his covenant and pledge.
