David finds his plan of building a house for God rejected. God makes a counter-proposal in the overflow of Grace and tells David that rather he will build him a house, a royal house, a dynasty. This passage and this promise contains one of the most important Messianic promises in the Old Testament and it chrysalises here into sharp focus.
